Clinical Experience
During her pre-doctoral fellowship Dr Mereu earned notable experience in the management of postmenopausal issues, endocrinology and pregnancy pathophysiology. During the residency at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo, the first two years she was deeply involved the activity of the department, operating room, outpatient and research in the field of gynaecology and gynaecological oncology, and during the third year attended the department of obstetrics, surgery, pathology of pregnancy, obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound and colposcopy; the fourth year in particular has deepened uro-gynaecologic surgery and during the last year laparoscopic surgery. Throughout the course of the specialty has been involved in the Delivery Room and Emergency obstetrics and gynaecology and the Gynaecologic Oncology Unit hold by Dr Tateo. Since her clinical fellowship with Prof A. Wattiez at IRCAD, University of Strasbourg, Mereu’s main interest has become minimal invasive surgery. The period at the Hospital of Negrar in the Minelli’s School permitted to grow up in the endoscopic field and particularly in the treatment of Deep infiltrating endometriosis. The clinical fellowship of one year at the University Sacro cuore of Rome in the Gynaecologic Oncology Unit of Prof Scambia permitted Dr Liliana Mereu to master advanced oncologic surgery. She has been for 4 years chief of the Gynaecologic Unit of Centro Oncologico Fiorentino (Scientific Director: Prof L Mencaglia) with the aim to develop and diffuse minimal invasive surgery and new technologies in the oncologic field. Since March 2013 she works in the Obstetrics and Gynecology of Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento (Director: S Tateo). Dr Mereu has performed more than 1000 surgeries in open, laparoscopic, single port and robotic approach. The high level of her surgical skills is testified by many national and International meeting where she has been personally invited to perform live minimal invasive surgery.

Research experience
Dr Mereu is attending PhD in Biotechnology in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University of Siena-Italy (prof Petraglia) focusing deep endometriosis disease. She has been principal and co-Investigator in multicentre clinical trials on DIE, oncology and minimally invasive surgery, following the Good Clinical Practise

Dr Mereu has continued to contribute extensively in teaching minimal invasive surgical technique in the following national and international high qualificated schools and institutes of research:

She has been teacher and tutor in more that 40 national and international endoscopic courses on pelvic trainer, animal model and human cadaver.

Scientific experience
Dr Mereu has authored more than 60 publications (original article, case report, reviews, video, abstracts) published in international peer-review journals. Authors of 3 book chapters. She has been personally invited as speaker in 98 national and international meetings and organized national and international courses and meetings.
