Slawomir Marecik

Slawomir Marecik

Dr. Marecik is a graduate of Collegium Medicum of Jagiellonski University in Krakow, Poland. He completed his general surgery residency at University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals Residency in Chicago. He also completed colon and rectal surgery residency at University of Illinois Cook County Colon and Rectal Surgery Training Program. In addition, he dedicated a full year for training in robotic surgery at UIC/Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Fellowship. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at University of Illinois at Chicago. He is an attending colorectal Surgeon at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL. He is a Site Program Director of UIC Cook County Colon and Rectal Surgery Training Program. His clinical interest includes minimally invasive approach to colorectal diseases. He is also interested in resident education. He is an inventor of anatomic pelvic simulator to teach robotic TME. His current clinical research is focused on utilization of robotic surgery in locally advanced rectal cancer.
